PRINTOLOGY

FORD SMITH’S UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS, USA

September 2015

The “Printology” exhibition opened in Fort Smith at the University of Arkansas, new Windgate Arts and Design Building. This retrospective exhibition curated by ROM LEVY focused on the Street Art scene and featured some major artists such as Banksy, Invader, Shepard Fairey, D*Face, JR, Blek Le Rat or Swoon to name a few.

It was deemed the first and largest Print retrospective dedicated to Street & Urban Art in North America.

With over 50 very rare and sought after prints, “Printology” retraced a side of Street Art history through the popular technique of printing.

Prints are part of the public art movement and are highly important within our contemporary visual culture for the impact they had on bringing street art to the masses and for the powerful images they depict. The print works became an echo of the work these artists are producing in the streets all over the world.
